Is it possible to add a feature where you can choose the currency for each account. I live in Peru and use the local currency but also have an account in $US

Hi... sorry about such a late response. While this seems like a trivial enhancement, there are many unknowns. For example - do these different currency accounts show up while tallying the account balances, do we do any currency conversion, should we just hide transactions that happen in these accounts, etc?
I think the best way would be able to change the default currency in an Account, then not list expenses/income that happen in these accounts when listing all other expenses/income, the transactions here just get listed when you get into the Account. What do you think?

Hi.... I see the difficulty with tallying the accounts.
Would it be better to tally the same currencies together then display them side by side with the other currencies?
Currency conversion? Interesting? The system would have to automatically convert based on the average international or local day rate, show the original currency in that account only, and add the converted amount to the general ledger.
You could hide them from the general ledger and display a running tally at the end of the latest transaction just for that currency/account.
I guess the difficult issue for me is that in Peru we trade in both currencies for expenses and income. When you make a purchase many companies/individuals want US$ while others only the local currency.
I currently separate them by using your expense sheet. I created US$ & PEN and select the appropriate expense sheet for the transacton. It works well when running customised reports based on expense sheet selected. I then export into Excel to crunch the numbers. Very time consuming.
Thanks for your ideas.
