Problem With Importing Bank Statement |
I'm new at this. I have no difficulty uploading the file to my desktop. The next screen has header "Enter Expence Information". I want the file uploaded to my expense sheet. I'm using Microsoft Office Excel Comma Separated Values File as the type. I don't find any drop down menu to allow me to choose data mapping, column heading, etc. Thus, when I try to import the file, I get an error message, and get bounced out of the sequence. Help, please.

So we did fix one issue with the csv import, but it is very unlikely your problem was related to that. In any case, we tried a few different kinds of files and they passed our tests. Can you try importing your file again? Make sure your csv file has the column headers in the first line. We have observed that some banks don't put the column headers... never understood the reason.
Importing qif files is a much better option though. Our program works much better with qif files as the qif files have a well defined structure, csv files don't - each bank or person does it differently. And while importing a qif file, you don't have map columns - less work for you!

I have tried importing both QIF flies and CSV files downloaded from my Lloyds Tsb account. Both files provide the unhelpfull response "Error" any suggestions?
The Csv format does not have headers, but I will add them, any particular header requirements?

Not sure what the issue with qif files was, but it seems to work right. If you continue to have issues, do let us know . You can also email us.
For csv files, you can set the headers to anything you want to call them, for example: Date, Description, Amount, etc... or ABC, XYZ, etc. During the import, you can map your columns to ours and so the program knows to import the right data into the right fields.
