Hi there

Well done on the changes to the app but they have not been a positive for me:

1. I cannot find the app I paid for for my phone on Google Play only the free one (Lite) which does not have all the features I need therefore rendering the app useless for me.

2. The new app which I can use on my tablet does not show the Sub-types - it does show the Types. So I cannot easily enter transactions using the app as I have alot of Sub-types - not now availale to me.

Is there any way to make the changes I need urgently or to revert to the previous version of the app for both my android phone and tablet? I could work with those. No problem with the old interface.

I would appreciate a speedy reply. Thanking you in advance.

Yes, the subtypes picker in the expense form is not implemented in the newer version. So you are right, it is broken because the older version had that. We did not intend to break it, but released the app before we implemented the subtypes picker. But we'll release an update in the next couple days with the subtype picker. It was coming anyways, but you just pushed us to release this sooner. So thanks for that!

There is no way to downgrade to the older version. The appstore does not let us do that.

Btw... this app we are talking about is expenseRegister Ext.

This enhancement is now available in the Google Play store. Look for expenseRegister Ext (v2.0.0).

A belated thanks for the changes you have made. I can now select sub-types using my android tablet. The problem with my android phone still remains - I cannot download the ExpenseRegister Ext app on my phone (HTC Desire HD / Gingerbread. The Lite version of the app is available but that is limited in what it can do and does not meet my needs; I a not sure why it exists if it doesn't allow for use of Types and Sub-types. Please fix this! My phone is my main mobile way of accessing your service so without the phone app I am limited. Please fix and make phone app available!!!

expenseRegister Ext won't work on GingerBread (version 2.3). It needs a minimum of Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and that's the reason you can't install it on your GingerBread phone.

The problem we have here is that your phone is running an older version of Android and the newer version of expenseRegister does not work on your phone. The way expenseRegister Ext renders the UI does not work on old phones, so we can't support old phones... and this is a common problem... new software does not work on old machines. The solution is to upgrade your phone.

expenseRegister Lite was meant to be a small, quick intro to expenseRegister - people download it, try it out and then decide if they like it or not. expenseRegister Ext is the fuller app with more functionality. We don't plan to enhance or fix the lite version since it is really just meant as an intro app. Quite frankly, we might remove the lite version from the store.

I now have a new Samsung phone running Jellybean. I can download your app but I cannot use the app as the entry form/screen does not have any full stops. This leaves me to only enter pounds and not pence. Please fix! I like the app - have used for pretty much 3 years now but it does get irritating when standard things like entering figures do not work. Please fix!

Thanking you in advance.

I can't reproduce this issue. I tested this on Jelly Bean (4.2 and 4.3). I am able to enter a decimal point in the amount field.
What do you see when you type in a decimal point in the amount field? Do you see any error messages? Are you not able to type in the decimal point at all?

When you tap into the amount field, you should see a keyboard with just the number pad. Do you see this? Or do you see the full keyboard.

Hi
I have emailed you a photo of the screen I see when I attempt (unsuccessfully) to enter a figure involving a decimal point using your app. I hope it is clear. The numbers screen is different from what I see with the app on my android tablet. For me the most important app that needs to work is the phone, then online then tablet.
I hope you can get this fixed. I have not been able to use your phone app for several months now.

Hi
I want to thank you for your responses (message and email) to my query. Your suggestion about the problem being with the Samsung keyboard (not your app) and to use/download an alternative keyboard have proved right. I changed the keyboard on my phone and I can now see and enter a decimal point when inputting transactions.
Many many thanks!
Happy User!
